University of Iowa School of Planning & Public Affairs’ New
Master of Public Affairs Program
In May 2021, while wrapping up my studies at the University of Iowa, I had the honor of serving as Project Manager of a team of four tasked with marketing a new Master of Public Affairs degree for the University of Iowa School of Planning & Public Affairs. Of course, whenever you’re marketing something, you need to know as much about the product and its industry as you can. So after learning about the new degree, and I can tell you this: Someone who holds a Master of Public Affairs degree seeks to better resolve and and improve the challenge, practices, and activities in all levels of government, private sectors and non-profit organizations in the communities they serve and neighbor. Whether it be issues ranging from housing and community development, infrastructure policy, and drug abuse, to climate change, education, and healthcare, the Master of Public Affairs can help you make a difference in the communities you care about.
